Pear tree in my front yard?

I have a pear tree in my front yard, i dont know what kind it is, but all all pears edible?

I think you can eat any kind of pear. You do need to pick them on the tree when they are still hard. If you let them get ripe on the tree they will break down with core rot. So pick them when they get big.
