How far away from the septic finger system should trees be planted?
How intrusive are red bud, poplar and Bradford pear tree roots on the finger system?
We just built our place and had a new septic put in. They removed all the trees in the area of the drain system, but left full grown trees within ten feet. The builder suggested leaving the area grassy, and not planting any new trees in the area of the drains.
We have both poplar and pear near the system, but existing trees have developed root systems and wont be a problem. Its when you plant young trees that grow fast near this new water source that you are asking for problems.
