My Stephanotis has grown a fruit! It looks like a x between an avocado& pear. Is it edible & should I pick it?

All the sites I found said NO. Don't eat it.

Reply:pick it and cut it up. Wear gloves, a face mask, sunglasses, and make sure whatever that comes out of the fruit does not touch your skin. or any place.. then, feed the fruit to a few chickens. If they live, you have a new source of fruit, is they die, you have dead chickens.

It might be better if you sent it to a lab.
Reply:is it a passion fruit ? I wouldn't risk eating it until you know what it is may ~ maybe you could describe the plant it grew on
