lawn can I cut them out or will it kill the tree?
I have an ornamental pear tree (not sure what type, I think it is a Bradford) the roots are coming up thru myI
It will not be too good for the tree. You may or may not kill it. This is typical of Bradford pears. It's hard to say what to do really other than covering them with mulch, but you don't need to have that up next to the trunk. That could cause rot.
Reply:Damaging tree roots is never a good idea. If they are bothersome, you are better off trying to ring off the area around the base of the tree and cover it with mulch or more dirt. Cutting them could kill the tree.
