What is the best style of clothing for a typical pear shape?

I just dont seem to have a clue what clothes would look best on me...and i feel pretty lousey in most of the clothes I have. Can anyone suggest a style to try?

You can wear quite a lot of looks, A line and empire definitely. The trick to dressing is keeping the focus up top.

Dark colours on the bottom half, and keep patterns and lighter colours to your top half. Use a great piece of big jewellery, or a gorgeous big handbag to balance out your silhouette.
Reply:A line. Always use A line when it comes to dresses. Empire waste lines work well also. Both the A line and Empire pull you in under the bossom and then flair out at the bottom creating a flow. Stay away from hip hugger jeans, they add to the pear shape Stay away from form fitting clothes.
Reply:Omg, I have the same problem. I feel so depressed when it comes to getting dressed in anything besides pajamas.
Reply:Ive been there too, i find that dark blue jeans always flatter my shape, plus theyre comfy.

do either flowy yet fitted or tight and very fitted

Bottoms . . .

for jeans I suggest AE trousers or tight AE artist jeans, they look the best on your figure

Semi Dressed Up . . .

this would be khakis and button ups

I suggest an AE button up that has a lot going on but not to much. Like a patterned or VERTICAL striped and khakis that have a wide leg, starting to flare just above the knee, but the upper leg shouldn't be tight at ALL

Dressy . . .

For dresses you should do a semi low neckline, tea length dress with a band above your waist.

Swim . . .

Try a mixed bikni with a dark color on the bottom and a printed top.

Skirts and Bottoms . . .

A just above the knee flared skirt and a pair of fitted bermudas or white semi short/long shorts.
