My bradford pear turned brown after watering for 2 hours. Is it dead? What can I do?

No hard feeling on this one please: Get a "Gardening for Dummies" book. .....LOL.... 2 hours! WHY?!
Reply:I'm sure imcrazyshelly voted for herself, because that was a goofy answer. Report It
Reply:Plants can drown, but that's usually a mistake people make with potted plants, it would be really hard to kill a tree in the ground that way. Also it would certainly not happen in only 2 hours. It takes days to kill a plant by drowning. Are you sure nothing else happened to it?
Reply:That is extremely fast, your soil must be like a sponge, to be the water that did it in. Are you sure it hadn't dried out before it was watered to the extent it was already dead? I water my pear tree daily and have a clay soil but it is thriving. Could the tree be 25 to 30 years old? That is about all the life expectancy these pears have.

Is there any possibility you may have a mole problem? They can do in a bush or small tree in a very short time. They can do in the roots. Check too, for any signs the bark may have been eaten by mice or rabbits at the base.
Reply:give it mouth to mouth. dude why for two hours. all you can do now is wait. you might get lucky.
