How do you select a pear at the store or market?
The softer the pear the juicier it is.
Reply:buy 1 that is soft to the touch and then some that are a little firmer as they ripen quick if left out.....
Reply:A pear should give just a little when you push on the stem end, and it should smell like a pear when you are close to it. No smell and hard, means that it is not ripe enough. Too much give and a really 'ripe' smell is too ripe or 'eat me now!". Watch out for bruises also. Pears do bruise easily, so watch where they pack them in the market. Barletts are most common and are smooth and buttery tasting.--great for salads, and eating. Bosc pears are crisp and firm pears, good for eating and for poaching etc.

You are making me hungry!
Reply:if it is not hard and pretty collor
Reply:look at pear
Reply:pick it up. if its firm you take it to the checkout line and pay for it.
