I am unable to share the printer in my network? I use a pear to pear network in my work. I installed the printer to one of the computers, so that I can share it with the rest of the computers. How ever when I try to add the printer to other computers by following the following steps, ... "Add a Printer --%26gt; A network printer or a printer attached to another computer and so on the name of the computer that I have already installed a local printer appears; but the name of the shared printer does not appear. So I didn't able to share it so far. So What can be the problem? How can this problem be solved? Thank You in advance.

on the computer that is physically attached you need to right click on teh printer to share it ... give it a name so that it will appear on your network as \\computer\printername

then when you add the printer on the other computers add it by that name

in many home networks, the recognition of computer names doesn't always work well .. so you could also try \\ipaddress\printername
Reply:Hi Paulo,

Go to Control Panel, select printers, select the printer you want to share, check share this printer. Now your printer will appear on the network.

Reply:Get Network Magic! @ you guessed it www.networkmagic.com It does not cost much and is very easy to use and setup a home network with and share a printer. Believe me, you will love this progam, they even have a 30 trial before you buy it. Good luck!
Reply:Check for zonealarm or someother firewall. when u share the printer in windows xp it automatically configures the firewall to let the printer be used by network users, but if you have zonealarm or any ohter firewall u will need to close it on the computer u have the printer attatched to and then see if you can connect if u can connect after shutting down the firewall u willneed to go into the firewall and configure it to allow remote users to connect to the shared resource. Good luck
