What is a good white wine with pear notes?

A Canadian Ice wine would be nice if you want sweet. Also a vouvray from France or a German Liebfraumilch are are great dessert pairing wines that go well with fruit and salad. For something a little drier try a pinot grigio from Italy or USA. A great lite wine that pairs well with salad, soups, chicken and fish. These are all good wines that have bold apple and pear notes. You can get any of them for around 12 buck for a decent bottle, except the ice wine it'll cost double but is it ever good. Happy uncorking!

Try Evoloution Lucky 9. It is a white that has 9 different grape varietals. Or try the Qupe Bien Nacido, it is a chardonnay and viognier blend.
Reply:Here are 5 suggestions I have for you from 4 different wine regions around the world:

1. Goundrey Wines 2003 Reserve Selection Chardonnay, Australia.

2. Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery 2004 Classic Riesling, British Columbia, Canada

3. Mission Hill Family Estate Winery 2004 Pinot Gris Reserve, British Columbia, Canada

4. Badet, Clement %26amp; Cie 2004 Les Jamelles Viognier, France

5. Lingenfelder Estate 2004 "Hare Label" Gewurztraminer, Germany.

The British Columbia wines are not always easy to come by, unless you live there but if you can, try for #3 as Mission Hill rarely makes a bad wine. All of these wines are reasonably priced, as in under $15 Canadian.

Hope that helps. Happy drinking.
