Here's an easy, easy one. Peel pears, cut in half and core. Put about a tablespoon of melted butter into the bottom of a baking dish. Add 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar. Place the pears on top of the butter/vinegar. Bake at 325 F degrees for about 30 minutes. Serve warm with a small spoonful of vanilla ice cream.

Take a can of chilled pears, drain, conserve a little more than a tablespoon of the juice, dice your pears, add shredded sharp cheddar, a half of a diced bell pepper, a drop of tobasco, some sour cream and a bit of miracle whip--put back to chill and serve on shredded lettuce. mmmm goood.
