Why is pear juice the "base" of almost every fruit juice??

I'm looking at the ingredients for a orange tangerine drink and it has more pear juice than orange or tangerine. I've seen that in so many different juices. Why??
Why is pear juice the "base" of almost every fruit juice??
because its not a really strong flavor but is very sweet and other fruits will override its pear flavor. personally i love pears in their own juice, very subtle flavor and they are best served alone or with cheese
Reply:i've usually notice apple juice is the base of everything.

but pear juice is probably easier to digest, at least in babies.
Reply:in south africa, most of the juice bases were white grape or apple

i love pear juice.. i bet yr juice tastes better than mine

i think pear juice is used to cut the acidity in the juice and as a preservative
Reply:Because it's naturally sweet and doesn't have much of a specific flavor on its own, so it lends itself well to taking on other flavors that it's mixed with.
Reply:Is it? I have only noticed apple juice being the main flavor juice.
Reply:i tihnk pear gives it the flavor. but im not sure :-/
Reply:Because it is sweet and fairly thick so it provides "body" to the texture of the bevrage. Almost 'every' fruit drink? SPENDY ;-P
