Can you use native pear tree wood ,,in tx,,to smoke ..on pitt.that is?

we have a native pear tree..over 10 im sure..we have to cut ..not doing anything and we have tried everything..i know people use apple has anyone ever tried a pear..i hate to just burn it...
Can you use native pear tree wood ,,in tx,,to smoke ..on pitt.that is?
you can use any fruit wood. some are stronger tha others but they all impart flavor to the food.



Also if you have a wood burning stove or fireplace it would be nice to burn in there as well.
Reply:pear after it drys is very lite ,you can use it to cook but the harder woods are better for smoke

the wood is very simular to juniper and has a good scent , but no i wouldn't recommend it on my steak !

good fire wood though !
