Do you have thick juices (like peach, apricot or pear) in Ireland/UK?

I've just been to Ireland and I've noticed you can only find very diluted juices, mostly made from apples or oranges...anyone can tell me why?
Do you have thick juices (like peach, apricot or pear) in Ireland/UK?
In the U.K. we have peach nectar, apricot etc nectar available but it is only from Waitrose and other very good stores. The normal supermarkets do not tend to sell it, just the diluted rubbish that you mention. I can't really give you a reason as to why, other than I think that the British have very conservative tastes and do not like juice with "bits" in it. I love peach, apricot, pear, cherry, black grape, nectarine, mandarin, melon etc juices that you can find in Europe but they are very hard to find here (except in Waitrose).
Reply:This style of juice is available in Lidl and Aldi stores which get a lot of their supplies from the continent. I'm not sure if these stores are in Ireland but they are in the rest of the UK.
Reply:yea course you do i think theres a brand called innocent its even sold in mc donalds i live in the UK and i have been able to find thick juices-unless they are smoothies we don't acutally have half the selection other western countires have for some reason
Reply:PEECHES ,APRICOTS,PEARS ARE IN SYRUP BUT NOW MADE FROM APPLE JUICE DUE TO TOOTH DECAY PROBLEMS
Reply:yes - yes - yes %26amp; yes

IT's not the third world over here in Europe - LoL
Reply:have you tried asking a shop keeper?

didnt realise we were so third world here in UK n Ireland....
Reply:no i cannot tell you why.

and if you are looking for thick juices, i believe you would have to look for fruit "nectar" it's quite thick.
Reply:I'm not actually sure! I know you can get plenty of fruit smoothies in all kinds of flavours, but not so much of the thick juices!
Reply:You can get them but will have to look around.

The reason is basically the British and Irish have not got such a sweet tooth as you newworldigans. I tried that stuff in San Diego thinking that it would be what it said on the carton only to discover it was almost pure syrup just like you get around tinned peaches or pears it put may English teeth right on edge and I was buzzing all day.

It's basically the same with your chocolate and candies they have a much higher proportion of sugar.

No Doubt as the Americanisation of our supermarkets continues (Asda is owned by Walmart) you will see more of such products appearing). I'm all for real sugars as I have that gene that makes those artificial monstrosities such as Aspartame and saccharin taste like dog poo.
