Just bought a pear tree what is the best time to plant it?

When you plant a tree it should have alot of sunlight and water for the first 3 weeks esspecially so late spring early summer so you get the longer sunlight hours and if you dont have the rain at that time of year your outside spickets are not turned off due to the cold, not sure if you have planted trees before butdig a hole with a slightly bigger diameter than the root bulb just enough room to make adjustments so that it is straight and about 3-5 inches of the top of the root ball should be left exposed and unburried so dont dig too deep, once your tree is planted take some of the excess earth from the hole and build a dam around the cicumfrence of the hole so you can fill it up with water you should fill that pool with water at least 2-3 times a day for the first 2-3 weeks, good luck

Always plant both at the same time !
Reply:as soon as possible, I mean now...
Reply:october to december.

thin in summer, prune in winter. copper spray is fairly effective but checkl your local bylaws for allowed pesticides.... :) and if you have a juniper in your yard, decide wether you would rather haveit, rather than the pear as a landscape plant.
Reply:The definite answer is... 10 o'clock in the morning!

Well, you don't want to be lifting heavy trees without having a decent breakfast first, and if you do it too late, it'll be dark and you'll end up cutting your toes off with the shovel.
Reply:The best time to plant it is now. Ensure you mix plenty of bone meal into the hole. It the plant is pot bound tease out the roots and try to spread them evenly in the hole, back fill the hole with soil, and add extra bone meal. firm down gently use a support stake if required. water well but make sure the ground isn't frozen. You would normally need to plant at the end of Feb or beginning of March but because the weather is so unusually mild it would be a good idea to take advantage now and give the plant a head start.
Reply:why would you buy a pear tree without knowig the best time to plant it. i suggest you do it now or it will die and you will never get any pears.
Reply:Near Christmas - then you might get a partridge sitting in it!!!
