Does my cat realize it's eating a pear?

I cut up small peices of chicken and put it in it's bowl, and he likes it and wants more. Then I let him sniff a pear, he licks it but doesn't eat it. Then I cut the pear up into small peices as if it were chicken and put it in his bowl. He eats it, and want more. Does he realize what he is eating?

Many cats like fruit. All cats like meat, like chicken, even more. He doesn't know he's eating a pear per se but he does know it's not chicken. Few will take a big piece of anything out of your hands. He was just being polite and waiting for you to put it in his bowl. After all, he's not a dog.

I bet he likes the taste though! my cats love anything sweet!

i would not feed it to much fruit though since cats are carnivores the fruit may not be good for their digestive system (diarrhea)
Reply:he probley does not like the thin, plain outside, the inside although, tastes good to him! so, no way to tell unless you can read his mind, or, he REALLY likes it!
