How to grow prickly pear cactus in my garden?
By putting a greenhouse around it, that you can heat in winter.
Prickly Pear's northern range is about Zone 8 or so. You're in, what, zone 3?
Reply:I would. While some varieties of opuntia are winter hardy, at some winter temperature they will not be. Mine on Cape Cod, MA survive well, and some also out in western MA in the Berkshires. I imagine your temperatures get much colder, though.
