Im a male that works out and is losing weight but is looking more curvy pear shaped like a woman. Why is that?

If you were very overweight then fat cells carry oestrogen which would distribute the fat in a feminine way. As you lose the weight this may seem a bit more obvious, but the more weight you lose the less obvious it will appear. Target your exercise to those 'pear shaped' areas and keep losing the weight and pretty soon you will be as man shaped as you want!!

Good luck with your weight loss. I know how difficult it can be especially day by day but when you see the results month by month it is so worth it!! Stick at it!

Reply:you need to target certain areas better. Less focus on the 'good' areas and more on the 'pear shaped' areas.

Reply:haha it depends on how you work out, it could be if you run and do squats, leg lifts ect your lower body will deffinitly outsize your upper body. in return if you just bench all day then your upper body will be huge with tiny chicken legs. you need to even your exercises up like, how i did it was ( chest tris, back and bis, Squats and core.
Reply:Maybe you taking steroids and they're messing with your hormones. Or maybe your drinking soy protein which increases estrogen production and makes you more woman like.

Reply:cos your secretly sad about the fact you have lost weigfht and weight by-proxy is the next best thing! lol!
Reply:Some of this is genetics... often times this body type can point towards too much sugar- and I don't just mean the kind we put on our cornflakes! Any high GI food, such as white breads/ carbs... even fruits, can slow down your metabolism and contribute to this sort of shape. Make sure you are eating only good carbs if you can (old fashioned oatmeal, whole grain breads, veggies...) and mostly earlier in the day. This will speed up your metabolism. Eat less and less carbs as the day goes on and more protein as the day goes on. Also- a healthy 5 to 6 meals a day is not a myth. It really works.



Good luck with the weight loss. Keep in mind also- the body shaping takes some time... the weight loss is the first step. Be proud of this!
Reply:It may be the areas of your body that you are working on. Are you doing cardio and weight lifting? Are you just focusing on your legs/torso, or are you doing arms/back/shoulders as well?
