Will an engagement ring hold a pear shaped diamond well ?
My fiancee got me a pear shaped engagement ring and it is gorgeous. I get compliments on it all the time, and the thing I love most about it is it's a very unique cut. I have yet to see anyone else with a pear shaped ring, but you see people with princess or round cut diamond rings everywhere. I highly recommend the pear.
Reply:you just need a six prong or a five with a V prong. like this http://mdcdiamonds.com/PreSetRingsRe.cfm...
Reply:Yes but remember to keep in mind that you'll want a wedding ring to go with it; this should be purchased at the same time or perhaps custom designed later.
Reply:yes
Reply:Some pear shaped engagement rings are really nice.

However, you have to be careful about getting one with a matching wedding band, because of the shape of the stone.
Reply:i guess it will look good but the emerald cut looks gorgeous
Reply:it wil look gr8. beautiful n something different

go ahead.

and congratulations
Reply:A ring can hold pear shaped diamonds but it does not look good on rings. The diamond will look very narrow. Pear-shaped diamonds are usually used on solitaire pendants and danglers. http://www.b2cjewels.com is a site which will help you figure out which diamonds will go with what kind of jewelry. And in case of rings, what shape of diamonds will go well with what kind of settings!
Reply:Yes, it will be fine. There's a setting specifically made for a pear shaped diamond. It is very secure and won't come loose. Just like any other diamond ring, you need to have your prongs checked every 6 months for broken or loose prongs but that's for any shaped diamond ring.
Reply:Yes! I think it will look gorgeous!

You will probably need a curved/modified wedding ring to match it and sit flush with it.
