What fruit do think it was......an apple, pear, pommegranite, ????

Genesis 2.../ Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. A river watering the garden flowed from Eden....The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Nowhere in the Bible does it say it was an apple. It only refers to the fruit of the tree of knowledge.
Reply:I believe the apple was used as an example. I believe the climate in which is mentioned in the bible was not a suitable climate for apples to grow. Apples require a frost or colder climate to produce fruit. The climate would have been much to warm for apples.

It is more likely that it would have been a fruit of a Mediterranean nature. This subject is always up for debate do to its delicate nature with christians. The apple is used as a symbol only. We have to think of the area that Adam and Eve lived it was warm and possibly humid.

Again apples need cold to produce fruit. Where do we get apples from. Washington, Michigan, California, etc.
Reply:The bible says it's an apple. Maybe it was a passion fruit though.
Reply:Well, the traditional theory, which even artists share, is that it was an apple tree. My guess is that it was either apples or pommergtanites. Every have Pommegranite juice? You'd like it mixed with something!
Reply:It wasn't a fruit it was the fruit of knowledge of good and evil
Reply:It was an apple.
Reply:It was the fruit of knowledge. You know, food for the soul.
Reply:who in the hell cares, no pun intended
