What's wrong with my pear tree?

I've had a pear tree in a pot for years. Every year I take the top layer of soil/compost off and add a layer of horse muck to water through and feed the tree.

It flowers and then little pears appear, but they then rot and fall off. Why?

You need to plant it out in the garden honey, pear tree's don't do well in pots as the root networks need good soil circulation during the changed seasons, they don't get this in pots although they will flower and fruit they can't sustain the process. If possible, plant it out preferably on a slope or slightly raised ground for instance. They like good clay soil and a light prune in winter to develop weak branches more come spring (so they can cope with the weight of the fruit). Everything else you do is fine, it will love the horse poop but some tommy food would help in hot weather, once a week. They love seaweed based tommy food!
Reply:it is a little hard to tell but your pot might be getting too small for your tree and the soil "could" be getting a little warn out, try some ORGANIC fertilizer for fruit trees! or try watering it less
