What is a good juice to give your baby aside from pear, apple and prune juice?
I will just tell you what I did with my daughter and what I plan to do with my son. I did not use the store bought stuff but rather opted for nutrient packed fresh juice from the juicer. It has live enzimes that help with digestion and so much more. I buy the bags of apples that are on sale (organic is best with apples but have never been in my budget) and generally use one of these in ever recipe I make. It makes it taste nice so that she will drink it. Healthy doesn't do much if you can't get them to drink it. I change up the fruits and veggies that I give her but for the most part she will only drink mixtures of the following:
apple with: pear
carrot
cucumbers
spinach
beets (MUST BE DILUTED WELL)
parsely
If you decide to try this make certain to seed your apple or just core it. The rest of the forementioned may go in as are but the seeds of the apple and the greens of a carrot are toxic and should not be included in the mix. I always dilute this and at your sons age I was only doing 1 part juice to 3 or 4 parts water.
Sorry for the lack of variety but that is all I can ever get my daughter to drink unless she is sick. When she is sick I make her drink a green drink that I think tastes good but she hates it. This may not have been the info that you were looking for but I can not in good contience give you the advice to give your beautiful son any of the store bought junk that passes for juice. By the time it hits the shelf it has lost all of its value and should than be treated as a substitue for soda. I do allow my daughter to have some sugar laden drinks now that she is older as it is better than soda and is considered a treat.
Reply:I live in canada and I have never heard of Juicy Juice? Report It
Reply:My daughter likes and still drinks 50/50% jiuce and water mix of Juicy Juice Strawberry Kiwi and Berry flavors..she doesnt mind the rest, but prefers the above...I've really only tried the Juicy Juice cause its 100% juice.
Reply:I gave mine white grape and juicy juice at that stage although I tried apple once and we had a big poopy problem.... but really I think orange would be o.k to, whatever baby likes is good, just watch out for high fructose corn syrup, I am not a health nut or anything but I have cut it out of my own diet because it causes a false sense of hunger, so I figure I should make sure the kids don't get it either there are many other reasons to avoid it but you probably already know...
Reply:Get Juicy Juice....it has no sugar at all. It tastes good and is good for your kids. Its real fruit juice. That is all I use for my kids. Even though there is no sugar I still water it down a little because it tastes pretty sweet.
Reply:After one year of age babies can have pretty much anything you eat or drink. Actually unless it bothers his tummy or you just prefer to, you don't have to water it down. He could even try Gatorade. Good Luck .
Reply:both my children love grape juice, both white and red. You can also try carrot juice, it surprised me when both my kids liked it. My daughter likes orange and grapefruit juice but it might be too soon to give that to your son. My daughter is almost 3 and my son is 6months.
Reply:how about good ol' H20 juice?
Reply:White Grape juice is great for toddlers - you can even try it for babies 9 months and up. Regular grape juice should work too.
Reply:Try Baby nutritous Melon juice, my boys loved it. Also try vegtable juice such as V8. The newborn may not like it to much, but it will help alot with strong bones and a healthy heart. My boys became so used to it,that they still drink it to this day, It is one of there favorite drinks. Try it! But the first suggestion I gave is good to.
But this is just a suggestion you may want to check with A doctor first.
Reply:we used any flavor of the juicy-juice brand I would probably stay away from orange juice. But any berry juice should be fine.
Reply:White Grape juice
Reply:there are a lot out there...just look on the store shelves...make sure you check that the juice you get doesn't contain high fructose corn syrup...it can be limiting, but there are still plenty of choices - cranberry comes plain or mixed with lots of other flavors, peach-mango, pomegranate comes plain and mixed with other flavors
Reply:I think white grape or even grape is nice. I think orange juice is ok too now, even lemonade, but I think you still should water is down some.
Reply:White grape juice might be good. Grape juice is probably okay. I think orange juice might be too acidic yet, but you could try it and see how he reacts.
They say you aren't supposed to give baby's juice cause of all the sugar. I'm not criticizing cause I will probably give my baby juice too, just putting it out there!
Akleba--not to be rude (I guess I'm playing Devil's Advocate tonight), but juicy juice does have sugar. Any juice including 100% fruit juice has sugar in it. 100% juice usually doesn't have added sugar, but it still has a lot of sugar simply because fruit naturally has sugar in it.
Reply:I gave my son water.
Think about the acid content.
OJ rots my teeth.
Sucrose/Fructose is sugar.
Reply:Ok my little sister is two years old in March, and has been drinking orange, banana,Grape,Mandarine %26amp; Apple juice since she was 9mnths old and has never been sick of it so good luck xox
