We had one come in at our nursery with no tag, luckily it had some ripe fruit and man it was delicious!!!! Just trying to figure out what it could be.
My best guess is Meiwa Kumquat. I guess those are supposed to be sweet kumquats, but Ive never had one so I dont know. Someone else mentioned calamondins, but I thought those were sour.
Your best guess?????????
Which type of citrus is this? Small, very sweet, slightly oblong or pear shaped, creamy inside?
You are probably correct. But eat the skin! That is the best part. I have 3 of the sweet kumquat trees. They are slow growers compared w/ lemons. They also bloom a little later then lemons.
I think that calamndins are sour.
Reply:Sounds exactly like a komquat. That's my guess
Reply:Did it have seeds? Or a pit? What did the leaves look like? I have never heard of a creamy citrus fruit!! :) Could it be a loquat? Look at this http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/plant/Loqu...
Creamy middle, orange skin, about the size of a kumquat, but those look more like oranges inside.....hmmmm.the quandry...
Good luck!
